Dr. Richard Osei, Executive Director
Dr. Richard Osei is the Founding Executive Director of the Foundation for Inclusion and Societal Transformation (FIST). His expertise cuts across several fields and desires to leverage these experiences for positve impact in minority communities, with particular emphasis on black communities in Alberta. Richard has previously taught Science and Mathematics in Grade 7-9 in the Ghanaian Educational System. He also worked in Environmental and Sustainability consulting for international organizations following his Bachelor's degree. In the last decade, he has been involved in teaching and research at the university in Europe and Canada. His speciliazation is in Data Analytics in Natural and Social Sciences, and Artificial Intelligence. He previously worked at the University of Alberta, Edmonton, as a Postdoctoral Fellow. Richard holds a doctoral degree in Forest Science from the Catholic University of Louvain, Belgium.
Helina Achiaa, Program Organization & Operations
Helina Achiaa handles program organization and operations for Foundation for Inclusion and Societal Transformation (FIST). Helina has served in a similar capacity for the Wesley Methodist Chruch Edmonton, a charitable organization, for about 8 years. In her role, Helina has successfully organized several high profile programs for children, youth, and seniors of African descent. She is also a Youth Leader for the afore-mentioned Church. She is credited for organizing youth-centered programs that address key social issues such as racism, drug addiction, and depression. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from the University of Windsor, Canada.
Grace Osei, Administration
Grace Osei heads Administration for Foundation for Inclusion and Societal Transformation (FIST). Grace is an Early Childhood Education specialist currently in training at the NorQuest College, Edmonton, Canada. Her role is to manage official correspondence with partners, volunteers, communities, and the general public. She ensures documentation and reporting are consistent with regulations and agreed terms with partners. She brings on board expertise in childcare and upbringing, child trauma management, and social inclusion among children. Her expertise in pedagogy comes in handy when designing training programs for children to ensure professional and age-appropriate elements are captured.
